We were invited to the Escape Room 040 by my friends on the last Saturday.
First of all, the quest started with the attempt to find this place - it is located in the old Philips building, no signs were found nearby, so we lost some time while searching for this place because the signboard is very small and could be recognized from a quite short distance only.
There is a nice waiting area inside the office and staff was initially friendly.
We got the "Secret of the Tomb" room with... a lot of sand on the floor and generally everywhere. Our friends did not updated us on that (they didn't know this too), so finally not only my sandals and socks were full of sand, but jeans, hairs etc. too. It would be nice to know about this in advance to choose a proper clothes and shoes.
But the most interesting thing is: our team did not succeed to accomplish the case because.... ONE OF THE KEYS WAS NOT IN ITS PLACE - the staff probably forgot to put it there! So the guy from the staff came to us to show where we did not succeed to find the last key and he failed to find it too :)
And more than this:
- We got hints on a screen while searching for this last key - with typo's leaded us to a wrong conclusion
- A cable controlling the lock of one of the boxes had a tool nearby to access and pull it - so it was recognized as a rope controlled something. So we pulled it :) and opened the box in a unpredictable case - that guy was not very happy because of that, but I think that he has to blame only his lack of professionalism.
- My wife cut her finger with a nail while searching for that a key.
Verdict: NEVER AGAIN. I don't think that this place is running by professionals.
